This Diplocaulus figure has been sitting on my shelf for years. Not sure when I made it. My best guess would be 2020-2022? Diplocaulus were large amphibians that lived during the Late Carboniferous, and stopped doing that during the Late Permian. Reconstructions of the bone projections on the side of Diplocaulus' head may show their horns in an arrow shape, like how I sculpted it, or with a flesh caul connecting the projections to the body, without showing the distinct arrow shape of the skull. I chose to show the arrow shape because it seemed cool at the time. When I painted this figure, I wanted to give it a cryptic coloration pattern, and I ended up making it orange because it also seemed cool at the time.
