Mini Harpy

The Mini Harpy is based on the Harpy Doll. I finished her last night, and it took around 2 evenings of work to make. Its body and shoes are made of clay, and the torso and wings covered in blue fleece. It has a yarn hair wig.

It was spawned through stream of consciousness... I just had the urge to make something, and didn't think about it beforehand. Its body is a little misshapen, but we don't mind. Because I wasn't planning on making this doll, I didn't really make the smartest choices, when it comes to poseability.
Her wings and torso are all made of hard clay. If I make another mini harpy, then I will give it poseable wire-skeleton wings like the full-size harpy has. I sealed her shoes with gloss varnish, and her face with matte varnish. My hope was the shoes would be very glossy, and her face would not be, but things did not turn out this way. They're all quite shiny!
The size of this harpy is really fun. From toe to horn-tip, she stands at approx 4.5in/11cm tall.
