Pretty Ponies

An arrangement of three strange ponies before you... Where did they come from? Who are they? Why are they like that?
Though some mysteries are fated to stay obscured, I can offer you this... They come from Five Below.
For only $5 these creatures can join you and sate your weird pony needs.

It's remarkable how little the toys look like the drawings on the package.
What little can be seen of their cutie marks on the packaging also fails to reflect reality.
They are awkward, beaked ponies caged in packaging that is practically begging the buyer to comb the ponies' hair.

They're uniquely weird. The largest pony is a nice yellow color with a gaping maw and huge, strangely placed eyes. Its expression is mildly unnerving, but it appears joyful.
The smaller ponies are less strange. The purple one is the only non-earth pony, being an alicorn with pink and purple hair. She's the only one with a colorful cutie mark-- blue and yellow butterflies.
The pink pony has a mane in orange and pink segments, and as big, red circular glints in her eyes.

They're strange ponies. They have weird faces.
They remind me somewhat of G3.5 MLPs with chunky hooves and huge heads. However, even without the comparison, they remain very weird.
